Works on barns, wood fences, new or weathered wood, concrete, masonry, and metal.

Product: A 100% acrylic paint formulated especially for wood plank fences. This product offers exceptional economy and durability in a user-friendly water-based formulation. It provides excellent weather protection, decoration, and is safe around valuable livestock. This product contains an effective mildewcide to resist the growth of mildew on the dried paint film. This product can also be used on interior barn surfaces, silos, metal buildings, and aluminum siding. This paint contains 18% Titanium Dioxide – safe for orchard applications.

Coverage: 300 to 350 square feet per gallon on smooth surfaces. 16 running feet of 3 or 4 rail fence on both sides per gallon. Paints approximately 50 wooden posts. Coverage will be less rough cut lumber, textured, and/or porous surfaces and may require two coats for best results.

*Dry Time: Dries to touch in one hour. Can be recoated in four hours.

Thinning & Clean up: If necessary thin with small amounts of water. Clean brushes, rollers, spray equipment, and hands with warm soapy water.

Application: Clean surface thoroughly. Remove dust, dirt, or oil by washing the surface with a non-residue all-purpose cleaner. Remove loose or peeling paint and rust with a wire brush and scraper. Pressure washing is the best overall method if available. Caulk cracks and crevices around windows, doors, and trim. For unpainted surfaces, two coats are recommended. On rusty metal areas, spot-prime with a rust inhibitive primer. Stir paint thoroughly before applying. Only paint when the air and surface temperatures are above 50 degrees Fahrenheit. Do not paint in extremely damp weather or when rain is threatening.

*Recommendation: Do not use an oil-based primer; the paint has primer mixed/built-in. A double-coat should do the trick!

Storage & Disposal: Keep the container closed when not in use. In case of spillage, absorb with the inert material. Dispose of contaminated absorbent, container, and/or unused contents in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations. DO NOT FREEZE.

*Note: Due to the nature of Firwood, we do not recommend using RAMM paint. We suggest staining Fir, rather than painting it. As always, treated posts must be completely dry prior to painting. If posts are wet with treatment, the paint will not adhere and/or flake as the post dries. Some posts can take up to three months to dry out. You could use a primer to prime the post then paint, otherwise, you will get a yellow stain from the tannin in the post if they are too wet.
