Electric Bungee Gate Kit
Create a safe, convenient entrance to your electric fence with the RAMM Electric Bungee Gate Kit. Designed to complement RAMM’s ProTek Braid electric fencing while remaining compatible with many electric rope and braid fence systems, this complete gate kit provides dependable electrical continuity and allows quick, convenient access to pastures, paddocks, and grazing areas.
The heavy-duty bungee cord stretches up to 25%, making it easy to open and close gates while maintaining proper tension. Its bright white and red color combination improves visibility for both horses and people, helping clearly identify the gate location.
Designed for gate openings up to 20 feet, the kit installs easily on wood posts and includes nearly everything needed for installation. When the gate handle is connected to the catch plate, the gate becomes electrified to maintain your fence line. When disconnected, the gate is no longer energized, allowing safe entry and exit.
For added convenience, an optional ring insulator can be installed on a secondary post to keep the gate from dropping to the ground when opened.

Installation Instructions
The RAMM ProTek Braid Electric Bungee Gate Kit is designed for installation on wood fence posts and is intended to rest on the ground when the gate is open. When the gate handle is connected to the hook catch plate, the gate becomes electrified, maintaining power throughout your fence line. When the handle is disconnected, the gate is no longer energized, allowing safe entry and exit.
Step 1 – Measure the Gate Opening
Measure your gate opening before installation. This kit is designed for openings up to 20 feet. If your opening is less than 20 feet, adjust the bungee cord length by loosening the rope splice with a screwdriver and pulling the desired amount of cord through the pin-lock insulator. Once the correct length is reached, reinstall the rope splice securely.
Step 2 – Install the Pin-Lock Insulators
Mount one pin-lock insulator to the first wood post using the upper and lower mounting holes. Install the second pin-lock insulator with the attached bungee cord and gate handle on the opposite post in the same manner.
Step 3 – Connect Power
The gate handle and hook catch plate serve as the electrical connection for the gate. Run insulated burial wire from your fence charger to the split bolt located on the hook catch plate. Remove the split bolt nut, insert the insulated wire, and tighten the nut securely. Once connected, the catch plate is energized, and the gate will carry power whenever the handle is latched into place.
Your Electric Bungee Gate Kit is now ready for use.
Optional Installation
If you prefer the bungee gate not to rest on the ground when opened, install a secondary wood post within the gate opening and thread the bungee cord through the included ring insulator.
To do this:
- Remove the rope splice.
- Disconnect the bungee cord from the pin-lock insulator.
- Slide the bungee cord through the ring insulator mounted on the secondary post.
- Reattach the bungee cord to the pin-lock insulator.
- Reinstall the rope splice.
With this optional setup, the bungee cord retracts only to the ring insulator when the gate is opened, helping keep the gate elevated and off the ground.
