Flex Coat can be applied to new, weathered, or previously painted lumber, as well as properly prepared concrete, masonry, brick, and metal surfaces. Application is easy using a brush, roller, or airless sprayer, and tools clean up conveniently with soap and water.
For best results, surfaces should be clean, dry, and free of loose or peeling paint. New wood may require two coats and should be tested for tannin staining before completing the project.

Estimated Coverage:

Coverage will vary based on surface porosity, texture, application method, and material loss. Two coats may be necessary, especially on new wood.
Drying Time at 77°F and 50% Relative Humidity:
- Set to Touch: Approximately 1 hour
- Recoat: Approximately 4 hours
- Fully Dry: Approximately 24 hours
Do not apply if rain is expected within eight hours. Temperature, humidity, rain, and dew can affect drying time.
Important Application Notes:
- Mix thoroughly before and during application.
- Apply only when the temperature is above 50°F.
- Allow new wood to weather for 1–3 months before painting.
- Wood moisture content should not exceed 15%.
- Do not paint the underside of fence planks.
- Do not allow the product to freeze.
- The dried coating may retain a slight tack because of its flexible formulation.
Primer Recommendations:
Flex Coat White Paint does not block tannin stains or prevent rust.
Test new wood for tannin staining before completing the project. If staining occurs, apply a suitable oil-based primer and allow it to dry for 24 hours before top-coating.
Previously rusted or rust-prone metal surfaces should be properly prepared and coated with a rust-inhibiting oil-based primer before applying Flex Coat.
