Diagonal brace plates form the backbone of every great fencing system; they attach diagonal posts to your corner, gate, and end posts. The diagonal brace plate installs quickly and easily. You only need 8 – #12 2 1/2″ Stainless Steel Hex Washer Screws (included).
Alternatively, you can use 8 – 3 1/2″ Ring Shank Nails. That depends on your preference. The brace plate holds the brace post securely to the end post. Therefore, it prevents the end or corner post from tilting over time due to fence tension.
When connecting two brace posts at a corner post, you may need to use a common hole for two diagonal brace plates. This method allows for easier and quicker installation. In addition, it is better for pressure-treated posts.
