Traditional horizontal slide latches can be cumbersome and, worse, they often protrude into the doorway when open. This creates a dangerous catch hazard for both horses and handlers walking through the opening. This innovative top latch system completely eliminates that risk. By operating vertically, the latch mechanism stays safely out of the way, keeping your door opening flush, clear, and safe.
Constructed from high-quality, heavy-duty steel, this rugged latch is built to withstand the daily wear and tear of a working barn. You can choose between a heavy-duty galvanized finish for maximum rust protection or a powder-coated black finish to match your specific barn aesthetic. It is fully adjustable to fit most sliding stall doors and pairs perfectly with our Pinlock Latch System for added security.
How It Works & Important Note: This system opens the door via a lifting rod mechanism connected to the handle. By simply lifting the rod, you release the latch assembly at the top of the door, allowing for easy, one-handed operation.
