Consumption Rate: The following formula figures out how many gallons of diluted insecticide your automatic spray system will consume in one week:
The number of times the system fires in a day is multiplied by the number of days in a week (7) multiplied by the number of spray nozzles on your system divided by 128 oz. gives you the number of gallons of liquid used each week. A 45-second cycle dispenses 1 ounce of insecticide per spray nozzle. The following is for firing for 45 seconds, 5 times a day, at 190 P.S.I. in the 55-gallon drum:
- 6 Nozzles (1.64 gallons/week) = 33 weeks
- 8 Nozzles (2.19 gallons/week) = 25 weeks
- 10 Nozzles (2.73 gallons/week) = 20 weeks
- 12 Nozzles (3.28 gallons/week) = 16 weeks
- 14 Nozzles (3.83 gallons/week) = 14 weeks
- 16 Nozzles (4.38 gallons/week) = 12 weeks
- 18 Nozzles (4.92 gallons/week) = 11 weeks
- 20 Nozzles (5.47 gallons/week) = 10 weeks
Once installed, the system is controlled by an automatic timer that’s set to a synchronized spray on a predetermined 24-hour schedule. The pump draws the liquid concentrate from the reservoir and transfers it through the nylon tubing to the spray nozzles, which are placed in strategic locations based on the structure of the facility to create an evenly distributed zone of protection. The area is then covered with small particles of the water-based insecticide, thus killing a large number of the insects and disrupting the reproduction cycle. Please keep in mind… ONE typical female adult fly can lay up to 250-1,250 eggs in a two-week period! As soon as the temperature warms up, flies start reproducing.
