Board Horse Fence

Our agricultural board-on-board fencing, also known as “Kentucky Board Fence” is cut for strength and longevity at 6 inches wide, 1-1/8 inch thick and in 16 foot lengths designed for 8 foot post spacing.

We carry them in Southern Yellow Pine or Yellow Poplar. If you are looking for wooden board horse fencing that combines durability and classic style, our products offer outstanding options. The posts and rails can be left natural, or they can be painted with RAMM 100% acrylic paint. 3 and 4 rail fencing systems of high-quality, rough-cut Southern Yellow Pine are available.

To help protect the fence from chewing horses, and for high-traffic areas, we recommend installing an electric fence with your board horse fence. We also recommend any wood or posts be dry before painting. Oak boards are available on a special order basis. Wooden board horse fencing can suit a variety of terrain and farm layouts.

Southern Yellow Pine

We treat our southern yellow pine boards with environmentally friendly CA-C for above ground use. Southern Yellow Pine allows the chemical to penetrate deeper into the wood for a long service life and are 30% stronger than Oak Boards and nearly twice as strong as the Poplar Boards.  Wooden board horse fencing benefits from this added strength, making it ideal for containing your horses securely.

Yellow Poplar

We stock our yellow poplar, considered a soft hardwood, and treat it with environmentally friendly CA.. Additionally, wooden board horse fencing made from yellow poplar provides a traditional look for pastures and paddocks.

*Note: We highly recommend the use of electric fencing in conjunction with wood fencing when containing livestock.
